From
Oberholtz Switzerland in 1540, to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1710, to the
Great San Joaquin Valley in 1864 near Modesto California, the Overholtzer’s
brought a strong work ethic and heritage of faith.
Overholtzer families, going into the fourth
generation, still finely hand craft worship furniture, provide custom millwork,
doors, and moldings along with caskets, fixtures, and cabinetry from shops in
Modesto and Saint Ignatius Montana.
The Overholtzer family making worship furniture
today uses the original time-proven construction methods of their Grandfather
and Great Grandfather, Elvan Overholtzer (1925-2008), founder of Overholtzer
Church Furniture Inc. Like him, they utilize North America’s finest hardwoods
to create products that are not only comfortable, but that will last and endure
over time.
Modeling
the original designs, pew ends are constructed of solid wood only. No veneers
with particleboard or composite core materials are used. North America’s
choicest hardwoods combined with the best cushioning materials and durable
decorator upholstery fabrics provide products of lasting beauty and value.
Colossian 3:23 expresses their commitment best:
“Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men…for ye
serve the Lord Christ”. This principle propelled them in the past, and
still motivates them to pursue and preserve superb quality standards and a
strong work ethic through the next generation.
